How to Compare Drywall Repair Bids
The lowest line item is not always the clearest scope. Compare what is included, excluded, assumed, and documented.
Look for the Actual Repair Method
A useful bid should explain removal, backing, board thickness, tape, compound, coats, sanding or scraping, texture, primer, paint, protection, cleanup, and assumptions.
Check the Exclusions
Moisture, active leaks, electrical hazards, suspected hazardous material, hidden damage, owner changes, furniture moving, paint boundaries, and access constraints should be addressed plainly.
Ask How Finish Expectations Are Handled
A responsible scope should explain whether the result is paint-ready, primed, spot-painted, or painted to a wider boundary.

Small, clearly visible repairs may be reviewed from photos. Larger, water-related, multi-unit, or approval-driven scopes may need a service visit or the $250 Site Evaluation + Written Bid Package.
